Within the ARRL, there is at least one Section per each of the fifty United States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. Some very large states have more than one ARRL Section. Each ARRL Section has a Section Manager who is elected by the ARRL members within that section. In the event that circumstances make it impossible for an elected Section Manager to complete his or her term of office, a replacement Section Manager is appointed by the ARRL President to fulfill the remainder of the term until the next regularly scheduled election is held. Each of the four states of the ARRL’s Roanoke Division: North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and West Virginia, is its own ARRL Section.
